Results of Waterside Series as DW looms
March 26th, 2012
The results of this year’s Waterside series are up. Times are not comparable with previous years because the first race in the series, from Great Bedwyn to Newbury, was cancelled due to ice.
Some interesting results, not least the re-emergence of Kevin Smith, the former GB international paddler and now Veteran, who won the Vets singles category.
Elsewhere, Reading’s Dan Seaford won the K2 with James Keeble. And the K2 of Connor Peters & Michael Southey, trained by Brian Greenaway at Fowey Canoe Club in Cornwall, cleaned up the Junior event with what looked like a convincing hour-long lead.
It’ll be interesting to see which of these crews do well in the Devizes-to-Westminster Canoe Race at Easter – watch this space! You can also follow the race’s chief umpire on Twitter @DWcanoerace for all the latest news during the event itself. The official race website is here.
