The social media Olympics

Millions and millions of us have smartphones and will be using them to access social media platforms to talk about the Olympic Games over the coming days. Here’s a good explanation why.

If you’re online for the Games, do check out Royal Canoe Club.

We’re on Twitter, Facebook and, of course, we have our website too. Since the autumn, when we cranked up the website, we’ve attracted a worldwide audience of several thousand – not bad for a canoe club. We’ll be doing our best to cover the Olympic Games canoeing events. All contributions are most welcome – editorial, pictures, etc….please email us with anything Olympic-themed that you come across.

If you’d like our social media audience to see what’s going on, please use the hashtag @royalcanoeclub

Hope to see many of you during the Games – and certainly at our Post-Games Party and Paddling Challenge Race, held in the evening of Monday 13 August,  the day after the Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games. Tickets are a bargain at £10 each – this includes  the race entry fee, a plate of food and live music. There will be a licensed bar and we’re expecting a capacity crowd.
